Vee Belts

Take a look inside the bonnet of your car and you`ll see belts of some persuasion lurking around the engine bay. In fact, plenty of machines use belts within their systems to link various rotating parts. There are various types of belts that can be used for this purpose and Vee Belts are commonly used. As belts go, Vee Belts are clever products due to the unique way they have been designed. The name of this type of belt slightly gives the design away as Vee Belts are wedged belts that fit snuggly into a groove on a pulley. Certain types of belts can suffer from problems caused by slippages and this can result in the belt coming away from the shaft. However, because Vee Belts are designed using a wedge shape they sit securely in the mating groove and are free from such problems. Install Vee Belts and any problems associated with slipping will be eradicated and this can improve torque when greater loads are put onto the pulley. As with anything, time might begin to take its toll on Vee Belts when they are constantly used and they could become worn with age. Replacement belts are readily available though, and they can keep on powering pulleys for many years to come.
